Life is difficult, messy and very beautiful. In times like today sometimes it’s hard to sort through the mess, manage the difficult and find or appreciate the beautiful times in our life.  

My desire is to help you find your potential and sorting through the messy and uncomfortable times. My name is Kristen Hounsom and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor.

I have over a decade experience in the mental health field. In counseling I have been a licensed therapist since 2015. I have provided counseling and therapy services to people of all ages and diverse backgrounds.  

I have worked with depression, anxiety, addiction, PTSD, military and first responders, grief,  care taker burn out, neurocognitive disorders, infertility issues, pre/ postpartum, family stress, work stress, and marital stressors, plus many more.

I utilize Cognitive behavioral therapy, DBT skills, ACT Skills, and person center approach to help change one’s perspective, challenge irrational thoughts and behaviors, and develop healthier you.

I am passionate about working with you in finding and developing a plan to utilize healthy skills to help manage difficult thoughts, behaviors and live a healthier lifestyle.

My goal is to work with you in processing through the good and hard times in life and learn to heal and grow.

I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, MN and My Masters of Professional Counseling Degree from Ottawa University. Born and raised in Arizona and has been working in the mental health field for over a decade.

I have been licensed since 2015. Worked with SMI population, General mental health, first responders,  military, families, adults of all ages,  children, addictions, and relationships and more.

I have run Intensive outpatient programs/ Partial Hospital Program groups, inpatient groups and therapy, outpatient therapy, family sessions, support groups and individual settings.
