Dr. Samar Areiquat, PhD., RPA

My name is Dr. Samar Areiquat, PhD. As a bilingual psychology professional with roots in the Middle East, I bring a rich, diverse perspective to my work. My journey into the field of mental health began during my academic years when I served as a special education assistant for middle school children with learning disabilities.

Over the years, I have gained extensive experience working with clients from various cultural backgrounds. At the San Diego Refugee Community Coalition, I managed numerous youth projects aimed at enhancing the understanding of substance abuse among refugee adolescents from the Middle East and several African countries. I have also received specialized training in crisis intervention and suicide prevention.

During my doctoral program, my research focused on exploring the mental health concerns and instabilities faced by immigrants, particularly those who struggle with language barriers and other acculturation stressors. 94028254
