Julie Bauer, LMFT

Hello! My name is Julie Bauer and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist living and working in San Diego, California. Since graduating with my Master’s in 2020, I have worked primarily with underserved youth, adolescents and their families, in both residential and outpatient settings. I worked with a wide range of presenting problems such as depression, anxiety, drug use, ADHD, suicidality, autism spectrum disorder, self harm behaviors, oppositional defiant disorder, and PTSD. I have worked with children, adolescents, and young adults, though I am looking forward to focusing more on the adult population with Fusion. I have experience with diverse populations including refugees, immigrants, foster youth, adopted youth, impoverished youth, youth on probation, and the LGBTQ community. I attended the University of San Diego for my graduate degree, and California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo for my undergraduate degrees in psychology, Spanish, and child development.

Therapeutically, I operate with a client-centered approach that is very strength-based, positive and flexible based on your needs. My number one goal is to create a space of safety, allowing you to be your most authentic self, free of any judgements or criticisms, and full of praise, celebration and encouragement. We will set your goals together, and I will be by your side while helping you find your own power to make the necessary changes in your life.

I now work with depression, anxiety, trauma, the LGBTQ population, adjustment disorders, autism spectrum disorder, and self esteem issues. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, solution focused therapy, strength-based therapy, and trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy.

In my free time, I enjoy going to the beach, reading, painting, hiking and yoga. I also have a pet cat named Leo and love spending time with my family and friends. I am from the Sacramento area, but have been living in San Diego since 2018.
